More than 100,000 people came out to celebrate the queer joy of L.A. Pride this year. The march included grand marshals Sir Lady Java, Mark Indelicato, and Paula Abdul.
The parade, organized by Christopher Street West, celebrated more than 50 years since the first march, which was the first permitted parade for queer rights in the world. In June 1970, the organizers held the event in remembrance of Stonewall the year before.
"Our 137 contingents of marchers, performers, nonprofits, celebrities, and the businesses could not believe their eyes when they saw the love and sheer joy that comes with being out and proud on Parade Day!" L.A. Pride said on its site following this year's event on June 12.
Below are 35 images showing that love and joy at the march.
