Terri Lesley has won $700,000 after she was fired for refusing to remove LGBTQ+ books.
Out of the top six banned titles, four deal with queer themes.
Similar to Russian propaganda laws, this bill is aimed at materials vaguely considered "harmful to minors," including many LGBTQ+ books and magazines.
"We must protect this right, including educators' and students' rights to talk and learn about race and gender in schools," a representative from the ACLU of Missouri said.
