The giggle fit that enraptured Anderson Cooper while live on AC360 Tuesday now has him accounting for some of the comments that slipped out while he tried to compose himself.
"This is so stupid," he could barely say in between giggles.
Some in Buffalo, New York took offense. That's because Cooper broke into uncontrollable laughter while reporting on Dyngus Day, a holiday celebrated there each year, so naturally they assumed he was calling the day "so stupid" while breaking down.
"I said it was stupid because it's stupid that a grown man giggles like a 13-year-old girl meeting Justin Bieber for the first time," Cooper explained on Wednesday's show, with a bouquet of the festival's ceremonial pussy-willow branches positioned behind even. He even invited on the co-founder of one of the celebrations to hear his personal apology.
That's when the Dyngus Day organizer offered Cooper a new title, as the festival's "Pussy-Willow Prince." A surely surprised Cooper asks, "Are you trying to make me giggle again?" See whether Cooper keeps it together in the clip below.
