Highland Imports LLC has committed a donation of at least $100,000 to GLAAD from sales of the True Colours Cava wine, which the importer has just brought to the U.S.

The company will make a donation to GLAAD for every bottle of the wine purchased in the U.S., with a minimum contribution of $100,000 the first year. True Colours Cava will be available in 30 states at Cost Plus World Market stores that carry wine.

"Highland Imports is boldly displaying their support for LGBTQ people at a time when the community needs brands to stand up proudly and loudly," GLAAD vice president of programs Zeke Stokes said in a press release. "This generous commitment to GLAAD will help accelerate LGBTQ acceptance as we work to create a world where LGBTQ people can let their true colors shine brightly."

Altia Sweden originally created True Colours Cava, which comes in a rainbow-colored bottle, to support LGBTQ causes in Europe. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Rainbow Foundation and its work for LGBTQ concerns on the continent. The wine, from the Penedes region of Spain, is a blend of several grape varietals.

"Making the decision to bring True Colours Cava into our portfolio was an easy one," Highland Imports president Oliver MacKinnon III said in the press release. "The cava is outstanding and the packaging is brilliant. Selecting GLAAD to be an integral part of our program was also an easy decision. We are very excited to introduce True Colours Cava to the U.S. and continue the momentum started in Europe."
