The Abbey is hosting a virtual toy drive.

West Hollywood's most famous gay bar is celebrating its 15th annual Christmas in September benefit for the Children's Hospital Los Angeles remotely for the first time -- and it's easier than ever to be charitable.

In lieu of its usual red-carpet event, guests can purchase a toy via an online registry and have it shipped directly to the hospital. Unwrapped, age-appropriate gifts can also be dropped off at The Abbey (692 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90069) during normal business hours.

This is the largest toy drive of its kind benefiting the Children's Hospital, which is more in need than ever due to the impact of the pandemic, stressed The Abbey's CEO and founder, David Cooley, who wants to make sure "that every child at the hospital gets a toy."

"When Children's Hospital Los Angeles informed us toy donations have decreased because of the pandemic, we wanted to do our part more than ever to help replenish their inventory," Cooley said. "While COVID-19 has impacted our ability to carry on our tradition in person, we hope everyone will join us online and keep the spirit of giving alive virtually."

"We're incredibly grateful to The Abbey and its supporters for their commitment to donating toys to CHLA's pediatric patients," said Rosby Lamm, manager of Volunteer Resources and Toy Program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

The toy drive runs this week until September 27. Donate a toy today at MyRegistry.com and get updates on the benefit @TheAbbeyWeHo's Instagram.
