Giuliani, With Pants Half-Down, Got Transphobic After Borat Prank

Borat and Rudy Giuliani

Rudy Giuliani is finding himself at the center of a brand new scandal after footage of him acting inappropriately with an actress appeared in the new Sacha Baron Cohen film Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. But it turns out his behavior on screen isn’t the only thing he should be embarrassed about.

Back in July, Page Six reported that the former New York City mayor and current personal attorney to president Donald Trump had called the police after he was pranked by Cohen, who was filming the sequel to his hit 2006 mockumentary Borat. While explaining what happened in a hotel room scene filmed for the sequel, Giuliani decided making a transphobic comment was the best way to describe the events.

He said that he was talking to a female reporter and trying to take his microphone off when Cohen ran into the room in drag. “This guy comes running in,” Giuliani said at the time, “wearing a crazy, what I would say was a pink transgender outfit.” He continued, saying, “it was a pink bikini with lace, underneath a translucent mesh top, it looked absurd.”

Giuliani also explained that despite the way Cohen was dressed, he was not attracted to him. “He had the beard, bare legs, and wasn’t what I would call distractingly attractive,” he said.

Giuliani told Page Six that only later did he realize the man in the “transgender outfit” was famous actor and comedian Cohen, and he was proud that he didn’t get fooled by him. Footage in the film shows Giuliani laying on a hotel room bed sticking his hand down his pants while an actress (Maria Bakalova) playing Borat’s teenage daughter stands in front of him.

While he initially said he was a fan of Cohen, and even did a Borat impression for Page Six, repeating the line “she is my sister. She is number four prostitute in all of Kazakhstan” in Borat’s accent, Giuliani is now calling the filmmaker a “stone-cold liar” and saying the “Borat video is a complete fabrication.”

You can watch Borat Subsequent Moviefilm starting tomorrow, October 23, on Amazon Prime Video and figure out for yourself what is fabricated and what isn’t.
