The devastation of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina has forced the organizers of the upcoming Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, which typically includes several HIV-related sessions and study presentations, to reschedule the conference and move it to a different city. ICAAC, scheduled for September 21-24 in New Orleans, will now be held December 16-19 in Washington, D.C. Registrations automatically will be transferred, conference organizers say. Deposits for discounted rooms at New Orleans hotels will be refunded. United Airlines has agreed to waive its $100 fee to change tickets for conference attendees. Those who registered for the New Orleans conference who cannot attend the rescheduled event in Washington can get a full refund by sending an e-mail to ICAAC@itsmeetings.com before September 23.
