The Black AIDS Institute will unveil its annual "Heroes in the Struggle" honorees at the organization's fifth annual gala awards reception on Thursday, November 17, in Los Angeles. "Heroes in the Struggle" is a photographic tribute to people of African descent who have been on the frontline in the fight against AIDS. Along with the awards presentation, the evening will include a celebration of the sights, sounds, and tastes of New Orleans, complete with live performances in a New Orleans-style cabaret and Cajun food. The gala will be held 6:30-10 p.m. at the Directors Guild of America, 7920 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are available by calling (213) 353-3610.
