Florida GOP
gubernatorial front-runner Charlie Crist says he has no
objections to civil unions for gays. He does, however,
oppose same-sex marriage and wants to keep the ban on
adoptions by gays.
Meanwhile, suggestions that Crist is gay himself
continue to dog the Florida attorney general, who was
asked by a radio interviewer about the rumors. Crist
replied, "The point is, I'm not. There's the answer.
How do you like it?" Crist added: "Not that there's anything
wrong with that, as they say on Seinfeld. But I
just happen not to be."
Crist's position on civil unions puts him
at odds with social conservatives in the party and his
rival for the gubernatorial nomination, state chief
financial officer Tom Gallagher. (Sirius OutQ News)
