The evening's most visible battle, California's Prop. 8 banning same-sex marriage, has yet to be called by the No on 8 campaign. Though proponents of the marriage ban called victory early this morning, No on 8 says the more than 3 million provisional and absentee ballots that have yet to be counted will determine the official outcome.

The Florida marriage ban required a 60% majority to pass. Though the ban was trailing in polls leading up to election day, it passed with a narrow 61% yes vote, according to the Miami Herald.

In Arizona, 56% of voters approved a marriage ban, according to CNN. And in Arkansas, 57% of voters favored a ban on same-sex couples adopting children. (The Advocate)
