A Boston-based activist is using the flap over the choice of conservative pastor Rick Warren to lead the opening prayer for Barack Obama's inauguration to his benefit.

Chris Mason is leading a Rick-a-Thon to spread the word about Warren's controversial messages pertaining to gay marriage and LGBT rights. Those interested can pledge a fee for each minute Warren speaks or a flat rate for the duration of the prayer.

Throughout the inaugural festivities, Mason said on his website Rick-a-Thon.com, signs will be posted all over the capital, showing how much money has been raised through outrage of Warrens' invocation.

The proceeds from the Rick-a-Thon will go to Mason's Driving Equality project, a 16,000-mile journey across the each state in the continental U.S. this summer. (Michelle Garcia, Advocate.com)
