Disgraced pastor Ted Haggard and his wife, Gayle, are headed for Divorce Court -- but not to have their marriage scrapped.

The couple are appearing on the show to talk to presiding judge Lynn Toler about how their marriage survived the 2006 revelation that New Life Church founder Haggard was having an affair with a male escort.

Following the bombshell, Ted was booted from the Colorado Springs, Colo., church and has spent the past several years trying to "cure" himself of his homosexual inclinations. Earlier this year the Haggards appeared on Oprah , where Ted said that his sexuality isn't black-and-white and that he and his wife are committed to making their marriage work.

Gayle said in a statement that their marriage and Christian faith are now stronger than ever.

"This is part of Ted's journey," Gayle said. "It's made him a better man. I see what has happened as a divine rescue."

The Haggards are being paid an undisclosed amount of money for their Divorce Court appearance. Ted says that after his scandal broke he asked Gayle to divorce him because "people will embrace you." She instead decided to stay with Ted.

The couple has been making the talk-show rounds to promote an HBO documentary on his exile from Colorado Springs, which was part of an agreement with New Life Church.

The Haggards' episode of Divorce Court is scheduled to air on April Fools' Day.
