Two months after the New Jersey senate failed to pass a marriage equality bill, gay rights advocates are heading back to the state supreme court.
Lambda Legal and Garden State Equality will officially announce their plans Thursday, according to WNBC News.
The case will draw from the 2006 ruling by the New Jersey supreme court that ordered the state to offer marriage or civil unions to same-sex couples. The state settled on civil unions, but advocates have argued that their unions are separate and not equal.
