Chely Wright to Appear at GLSEN Awards

Chely Wright, the country music star who came out this month, will make her first appearance at an LGBT event this Monday when she steps onto the red carpet at the GLSEN Respect Awards in New York City.

According to a news release about the event, Wright listed GLSEN in the liner notes of her new CD, Lifted Off the Ground.

GLSEN, which works to ensure safe schools for all students, will honor Cyndi Lauper, Pfizer, American Express, David Dechman and Michel Mercure, and Student Advocate of the Year Danielle Smith at the seventh annual Respect Awards.
