Rachel Maddow spoke Tuesday with Rep. Patrick Murphy, one of the legislators who helped craft the White House-backed compromise on "don't ask, don't tell" repeal.
Maddow asked Murphy, who introduced his repeal amendment Tuesday, whether the White House had been helpful in rounding up the votes.
"The White House has been terrific," said Murphy. "I would say the White House, the military leaders in the Pentagon, and the leaders in both the house and the senate have been terrific in our fight to finally repeal 'don't ask, don't tell.'"
