Gay character Kurt battled homophobic football players and came out to his dad this season on Glee, but he will face a new challenge next season.

Glee creator Ryan Murphy will introduce a "Christian character" who objects to Kurt's sexual orientation to the cast next season, according to a TV Guide article. The female character, who has not been named, will be more conservative than the rest of the glee club, and will take exception to controversial performances by the group.

Murphy wants a character to whom more conservative or Christian viewers can relate. "If we're trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we've got to to include that point of view as well," he said.
