One of the top producers for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers claims Blue Ranger David Yost didn't quit over homophobia on the set. He says Yost quit because he wanted more money and that the Blue Ranger was always a "pain in the ass."

Yost came out last week in an emotional interview in which he said he was subjected to years of taunting and antigay slurs while working on the TV series. He said he tried prayer and reparative therapy before finally coming out years later.

But producer Scott Page-Pagter tells TMZ that Yost quit for financial reasons:

"[Yost] and two of the other actors were all getting a bonus on top of their salary. When the other two left the show, production wanted to stop giving him the bonus, and that's ultimately what led to his departure from the show."

On the allegations of homophobia, the producer said, "I don't know why he's saying this, but he was the only one no one got along with ... he was a pain in the ass."
