Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin powered through the difficult election climate for Democrats, chalking up a 69% to 31% victory over her Republican rival, Peter Theron.

The out congresswoman has represented Wisconsin's second district, which includes Madison, since 1999. Her win comes as the state's U.S. senator Russ Feingold, a leading progressive voice, was toppled by Republican Ron Johnson.
