Laverne Cox Takes B. Scott As Her 'Date' to the BET Awards

Laverne Cox posted photos of the two trans fashion icons together, celebrating their #sisterhood as #lovemuffins.

Hitting the red carpet this Sunday to present the Best Actor Award at the 10th annual Black Entertainment Television Awards, Laverne Cox earned another award from us -- cutest "couple."

The Orange Is the New Black star looked radiant next to her friend B. Scott, another favorite trans pop culture personality known equally for his flair and unapologetic sense of self. The two are featured together in the adorable BET video montage below, with Cox's deep-V tuxedo pantsuit turning heads.

Cox's decision to bring Scott as her date seems a thoughtful statement in the wake of a year-long controversy stemming from Scott's unceremonious on-air removal from a pre-show hosting gig that Scott was slated to anchor at the 2013 BET Awards. The incident, where Scott was "yanked" from the red carpet and told to change into more "masculine" attire, resulted in a lawsuit, where Scott (who prefers the use of male pronouns) alleged discrimination on the basis of his gender identity. Earlier this year, Scott settled for an undisclosed amount with the entertainment company, owned by Viacom.

The show-stopping fashion continued later at Sunday's award show, when Cox took the stage alongside actress Gabrielle Union to present the acting award to Empire's Terrence Howard. She and Union appeared in the exact same white dress, joking that they'd have to hold a "hip-hop trivia contest" to see which woman could wear the dress to the show's afterparty.

With my date for the #BETAwards2015 @lovebscott #sisterhood #TransIsBeautiful #lovewins #lovemuffins
