It was a notable year for Pride in Toronto, with the first sitting Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, marching, as well the protest by Black Lives Matter. Add to that the continuing undercurrent of grief over the shooting in Orlando and the participants who carried signs for each victim, and the event was incredibly emotional. Yet the spirit of Pride — equality, visibility and representation for all LGBT people — was the strongest note.
