Torajiro's artwork struck us immediately in an emotional way, reminding us of school boy crushes and the wistful ache of longing.

There is a peaceful, but tense quality in Torajiro's artwork. His figure studies can be monumental, and when he places his boys and men in landscapes and interiors the erotic aspects of environment and nature excite the eyes. He sent us this message:
"My name is Torajiro. I am a Japanese artist living in Tokyo. I was influenced by a lot of Japanese animation when I was a child, so I started to draw pictures. I graduated from Musashino Art University in 2000. My major was Japanese Painting. Now I use 2 different art supplies: digital (Adobe photoshop) and oil painting. The focus of my art centers around 'boys' and 'men' and their situations. I try to draw their kindness and loneliness.
"I draw everyday for an exhibition I hope to present -- somewhere in the world! -- in the near future."
