Kate McKinnon and Her Cat Reprise 'Whiskers R' We' for SNL at Home

Kate McKinnon and Her Cat Reprise 'Whiskers R' We' for SNL at Home

Kate McKinnon

McKinnon's cat Nino is the real star of the sketch.

It's been years since Kate McKinnon donned a silver wig to crack up at her own jokes as Barbara DeDrew, owner and proprietor of Whiskers R' We cat rescue. In the past, Barbara has hawked various cats up for adoption with her lady friend du jour by her side. But since Barbara, like the rest of us, is in quarantine, she's gone solo to try to adopt out the remaining cats in her center.

The sketch was shot entirely at McKinnon's place for SNL at Home. And it's just her and her cat Nino who plays an array of cats up for adoption.

Between describing the various personalities of the cats remaining in her inventory, McKinnon's DeDrew coaches her cat actor.

"This cat is a Brazilian short hair, which is ironic because she's a mess down there," McKinnon says as the camera pans to the cat's pixelated privates.

"This cat is called Baxter and he's got a dirty little secret. He's really into BDSM -- biting dem silly mice," McKinnon says while holding a paper mustache up to her cat.

The "Whiskers R' We" sketch in the past has included an array of cats up for adoption, but also, Barbara's horny girlfriends who are always trying to cop a feel. Amy Adams, Charlize Theron, Melissa McCarthy, Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, Tiffany Haddish, and Kristen Wiig have all played Barbara's cat-loving suitors.
