Provincetown Birdman event targets domestic violence, June 4
The Gay Men's Domestic Violence Project's Provincetown Birdman event will take place on Saturday, June 4, from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. in Provincetown, Mass. Birdman contestants, nicknamed "flyers," will attempt to soar more than 30 yards from a pier almost 20 feet above the water without the aide of motorized parts, rockets, helium balloons, etc. The event, which is expected to attract more than 2,500 spectators, seeks to raise awareness of domestic violence in the gay community.
