Miguel Angel Reyes Talks About The Drawing Sessions
"I started drawing virtually via Skype in 2014 after an Australian model suggested it. For the next 5 years, I drew over 300 models from all over the world till 2019. At the same time, I was also hosting the Tom of Finland drawing sessions on Second Sundays and hosting at my place whenever an extra special model would be in LA. When isolation for everyone became the norm in 2020, I, as everyone else, started hosting all of the drawing sessions virtually. Artists and models from everywhere, including US/Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Australia, and China.
"We all know that we can actually just draw from the never ending supply of pictures found in the internet. The Virtual Sessions are a way for artists to get together, draw, and share work. As the pandemic continues in various degrees, some virtual sessions have ended, while a few have become hybrid (both live and virtual). Virtual sessions will continue to be an important outlet for artists who live in remote areas of the world."
