Gay writer-director James Ronald Whitneys documentary on child abuse within his own family, Just, Melvin: Just Evil, will premiere on HBO April 22. Melvin Just is Whitneys grandfather, who served eight years in prison for molesting his children and stepchildren, a charge he still denies. Whitney, who was himself molested by an uncle, interviews his grandfather in the film, along with his mother and aunts, who freely admit to the molestations they suffered as children. Whitney also served as producer on the highly personal project, which was a much-talked-about entry in the 2000 Sundance Film Festival.
