Bruce Vilanch vacates Hollywood Squares

Variety confirms that Bruce Vilanch has left Hollywood Squares as both head writer and on-camera participant. Production entity King World has named Dave Boone, who worked for many years as a writer under Vilanch on Squares, as the show's new head writer. Advocate columnist Vilanch follows Whoopi Goldberg, who quit as executive producer and center square in April. A new center square has not yet been chosen.
