Marc Shaiman to be honored at Hollywood Film Festival

Out composer Marc Shaiman, whose repertoire includes the Oscar-nominated South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut and the new Broadway musical Hairspray, will be honored by the Hollywood Film Festival during October's Hollywood Movie Awards gala ceremony. Also honored with this year's "Hollywood Outstanding Achievement" awards this year will be Martin Scorsese, Robert Towne, Lucy Fisher, Douglas Wick, and Janusz Kaminski. Carlos de Abreu, executive director of the festival, said in a statement, "Mr. Scorsese, Mr. Wick, Ms. Fisher, Mr. Towne, Mr. Kaminski, and Mr. Shaiman have demonstrated extraordinary ability throughout their careers. They are excellent examples of highly talented professionals whose work and creative vision is to be applauded and honored."
