Variety columnist Army Archerd reports that Demi Moore and Melissa Etheridge have joined the cast of Southern Comfort, a narrative feature based on Kate Davis's acclaimed documentary about a transgendered couple. Moore, Etheridge, and Sissy Spacek will all play men in the film, while Henry Thomas and Alan Cumming play women. Mary Kay Place has also been cast in the film, which producers Harry Thomason and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason hope will begin shooting in January.
