Gay television (The Golden Girls, Maude) and film (Some of My Best Friends Are, Starship Troopers) icon Rue McClanahan has joined the cast of Ryan's Life, a new original series from the LGBT cable network Here. The show tells the story of a teenage boy who realizes he's gay and decides to start making a video diary of his life. McClanahan will play Ryan's grandmother and confidante. The network's announcement Wednesday noted that the show was set to premiere in 2007. (The Advocate)
