One of Broadway's
most beloved musicals,The Producers, will get
the Vegas treatment, with David Hasselhoff to play the
outrageous, flamboyant Roger DeBris.
The musical
follows the story of down-on-his-luck theater producer Max
Bialystock and his timid accountant, Leo Bloom. With the
help of director DeBris, they scam to raise more
money than needed for a surefire Broadway flop and
pocket the difference.
"I'm overjoyed
that David Hasselhoff is going to play Roger DeBris in
the Las Vegas production of The Producers," the
musical's creator, Mel Brooks, said in a press
release. "He has an incredible comedic timing, terrific
musical theater experience, and a stage presence that
I think will be a perfect marriage with the role. And
by the way, he has great legs for that dress."
The production
will be housed in the renowned Paris Las Vegas, and
performances are scheduled to begin January 31. For more
