NBC has set its targets on Rosie O'Donnell, looking to nab her after she untangles herself from ABC.
New programming chief Ben Silverman has told friends he will do anything to get O'Donnell to join the network, reported Fox News on Thursday. And while Silverman wants O'Donnell to continue her daytime success on NBC, he has reportedly offered her the chance to host a prime-time game show as well.
O'Donnell, who was a host on ABC's The View, helped boost ratings with her outspoken commentary and blunt opinions. She left the show two weeks ago after a spat with cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck, although O'Donnell had been slated to end her tenure with the expiration of her contract in June.
In the meantime, O'Donnell will be busy promoting her For All Kids and Rosie's Broadway Kids foundations with the completion of a new arts center in New York. The building is planned for completion on November 19, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of O'Donnell's charities. If NBC has its way, she might be back on-air by then. (The Advocate)
