All My Children paid tribute Tuesday to James Mitchell, the seven-time Emmy-nominated actor who played Palmer Cortlandt on the soap for nearly 31 years.
Mitchell died in January at 89. He is survived by his partner, Oscar-winning costumer Albert Wolsky.
Cortlandt's longtime love on the show, Opal (Jill Larson), did the bulk of the remembering -- and the acting -- in Tuesday's tribute episode. The show brought back numerous cast members who shared the screen with Mitchell over the years, including the show's star, Susan Lucci.
