Pop icon and LGBT advocate Cyndi Lauper will star in a new reality TV show that allows cameras into her New York home. The untitled new show will be produced by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame.
According to Aceshowbiz, which cited a report in the New York Daily News, Lauper will appear in the show with husband, actor David Thornton, and their son, Declyn, who is 12.
Lauper called the show "the comedy of our lives," according to Aceshowbiz. She recently competed in reality TV on The Celebrity Apprentice.
While few details are available about the show, fans no doubt can hope that Lauper will feature her new shelter for homeless LGBT youth in Harlem, called the True Colors Residence, set to open in winter 2011.
