Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has been involved in the LGBT community since we started business in 1981. Based in San Francisco, our LGBT employees and guests have always been an important part of what makes the company one of the premier hotel brands in North America. With more than 50 hotels and restaurants in 23 cities across the United States, our employees are ready to welcome our guests with care.
Firsts in LGBT Equality
Kimpton was the very first hotel collection to score a 100% in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index back in 2004. And in 2010, Kimpton earned HRC's Award for Workplace Equality Innovation, recognizing advanced and forward-thinking LGBT policies. We were recognized for our overall Transgender benefits policy and for being one of the first companies that made up for the inequality in the Federal Tax code when it affected employees in same sex and opposite sex domestic partnerships. Kimpton's LGBT employees are represented on every level of the company including executive management.
Supporting the Community
LGBT guests have always been very important to Kimpton, and of course we support our communities by providing funds and product donations to dozens of LGBT organizations every year. In addition, our annual Red Ribbon Campaign has raised more than a million dollars for HIV charities over the past 20 years. Do you or your organization want to learn more about partnering with Kimpton? Please contact us at LGBTsupport@kimptonhotels.com.
Have a Crush
With a spirited marketing communications program and outstanding community outreach, Kimpton is proud to have developed a loyalty group of more than 28,000 LGBT Kimpton InTouch members. In Fall 2010, the new campaign "Have a Crush on Kimpton" will launch and include a national contest asking the LGBT community, "Who has the ultimate crush on Kimpton?" The grand prize will include a fabulous vacation at the EPIC Hotel in Miami, FL.
