We are about to see some big things from Suzie Toot!
As the fan-favorite queen from RuPaul's Drag Race season 17 and the winner of the LaLaPaRuZa, the talented star has taken over the world in the past year.
Starring alongside other beloved queens Kori King and Lydia B. Kollins, Toot has toured across the globe on their campy ButtTootKing Tour and performed at sold-out venues in front of thousands of adoring fans.
Now, Toot is ready to headline her own tour with her new one-woman cabaret show Suzie with a Z. Inspired by her icons Liza Minnelli and Lucille Ball, the theater queen will tap her way through Vaudeville and Broadway herstory as she blends comedy, glamour, and high-concept drag with her powerhouse vocals.
"This is what I was hoping to do after Drag Race. This show is going to feature a lot of songs that people aren’t going to know. It’s everything Suzie Toot is! People are going up for Bing Crosby! I’ve saved the world if a young queer child now knows who Liza Minnelli is," Toot tells Out.
Drag Race fans predicted Toot's world domination once she tap-danced to her own original song on the season 17 talent show. After securing a top two placement, Toot won the first lip-sync of the season against Jewels Sparkles to Katy Perry's "Woman's World," which catapulted her to an overnight sensation.
"Ever since I heard the song 'Woman's World,' my life has changed forever. I think a lot of people could say that! I can't believe everything that's happened. Who would have guessed that when we got 'Woman's World' on our iPods, that that would be a defining career beginning moment for me?"
Toot's schedule is certainly packed for the foreseeable future, but fans are already manifesting her return to Drag Race on an upcoming All Stars season.
After all, three of her season 17 sisters (Lydia B. Kollins, Sam Star, and Lucky Starzzz) have already returned for All Stars, so Toot's return could happen sooner rather than later. However, she doesn't want to compete with her longtime frenemy Kori King on another season of Drag Race.
"I really think that we are going to see season 17 girls on All Stars for the next ten years. I want to do it very badly! I want to stomp. [If Kori King appeared], that would be the end of my life. I don't think I could do it. I would immediately quit at the site! I'll have my name on a lipstick ready in my back pocket. If she enters after or before me... boom! Right back out that door!"
There's no denying that Toot represents queer joy at a pivotal time in history. As anti-LGBTQ+ legislation continues to sweep the nation, the fan-favorite queen is encouraging Republicans to put down the pen and pick up the wig instead.
"To politicians, to Ron DeSantis, to monsters who are ruining a great country... give it up girl. You can be free. You can put giant balloon titties in your shirt and live your gay life! It's okay! Put on the balloon titties and change your life. Shout out to you, Bryon Noem!"
Suzie with a Z kicks off July 8 in New York City and tickets are available here. To see the full interview with Suzie Toot, check out the video at the top of the page.
