Felicity Jones's Ruth Bader Ginsburg Battles Gender Discrimination

Felicity Jones

In an exclusive clip from On the Basis of Sex, Jones's Ruth Bader Ginsburg preps to challenge and change the way gender is viewed in the courts.

Supreme court justice and cultural icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life was explored in the documentary RBG earlier this year. Now, On the Basis of Sex, the biopic about the young lawyer who outperformed many of her male colleagues at Harvard Law School to then go on to become a professor for a time because no firm would hire a woman, hits theaters on Christmas.

Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Rogue One) portrays a feisty Ginsburg as she eventually navigates the tax court case Moritz v. Commissioner that helped her prove discrimination based on gender.

In the clip below Justin Theroux's ACLU attorney Melvin Wulf derails Jones's Ginsburg in a mock trial set to help her prep for her day in court.

Call Me By Your Name's Armie Hammer plays her attorney husband Martin Ginsburg in the film from Mimi Leder (Deep Impact). Sam Waterston and Kathy Bates costar.

The film is in theaters on Christmas Day.
