U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer made a special announcement at New York City's Pride celebration: He congratulated his daughter Alison on her engagement to Elizabeth Weiland. Schumer, the Senate minority leader, has supported marriage equality since 2009, and after Donald Trump's election he promised to continue fighting for LGBT rights. Now his daughter will benefit from marriage equality. She and Weiland plan to wed November 18.
