The director of Lambda Legal's Constitutional Litigation was named an associate judge of the circuit court of Cook County, Ill. Patricia M. Logue will be sworn in April 11. She was one of 31 new judges selected out of the 242 that applied.

Logue's 14-year tenure at Lambda Legal began with the opening of its Midwestern regional office in Chicago in 1993 as managing attorney, according a press release. She has also served on the national level as interim legal director and senior counsel. She also sat on the group's board of directors for five years.

Logue's past cases include serving as one of the lead attorneys in Lawrence v. Texas, which struck down all remaining sodomy laws in the U.S. She also worked on behalf of Wisconsin teen Jamie Nabozny, in a case whose decision guarantees LGBT students equal protection from harassment and violence in public schools.
