"I am honored to invite these talented groups and individuals to participate in the inaugural parade," Obama said in announcing the parade lineup. "These organizations embody the best of our nation's history, diversity, and commitment to service. Vice President-elect Biden and I are proud to have them join us in the parade."

The band was chosen out of 1,382 applications, according to a press release. The full lineup has yet to be finalized, but between 60 and 80 bands traditionally participate in the parade. (Michelle Garcia, Advocate.com)
