Anne Hathaway Takes on
Judy Garland

Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway is reportedly on board to star as Judy Garland in Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland , both on-screen and onstage.

The film and stage adaptations are based on the biography by Gerald Clarke, who used as source material hundreds of interviews and Garland's own unfinished autobiography, commenced during her childhood and continued through the end of her life.

Hathaway's credits include The Princess Diaries movies, Brokeback Mountain, and The Devil Wears Prada, as well as Rachel Getting Married , which earned her an Academy Award nomination.

The Weinstein Company will produce both the film and stage versions.

Clarke's book was first published in 2001.
