Roverta Boen, who opened northeast Florida's first gay bar in 1964, has died at age 81. Boen was the owner of Bo's Coral Reef in Jacksonville Beach and was a major supporter of LGBT equality. On the bar's website, Boen states, "I have been very proud of having the ability to have a place where there is no discrimination and do not tolerate it at all."
