Maggie Gallagher Stepping Down

The National Organization for Marriage announced that its president, Maggie Gallagher, will step down, giving the position to current executive director Brian Brown.

Gallagher announced Tuesday that she would remain on NOM's executive committee and will work "directly on cultural and strategic projects, as well as write a book for the Oxford University Press titled Debating Same-Sex Marriage in collboration with John Corvino.

Gallagher touted Brown's work as a "brilliant, young, pro-family activist" who has worked to build the organization from the ground up in the past three years.
