Pop singer Clay Aiken says "being gay is not news" and "should be something that we strive to normalize" in an interview with website PopEater.
Asked if fans write to tell him that his coming out of the closet has helped them, Aiken replies, "Not so much. It is helpful and I understand why it could be helpful. He is currently planning a summer tour to promote his fifth album, Tried & True.
