The body of Tyler Clementi, the gay Rutgers University student who killed himself after two of his peers broadcast him having sex on the Internet, was discovered in the Hudson River on Wednesday and identified Thursday.

New Jersey's Star-Ledger reports that authorities confirmed the corpse was that of Clementi, who had posted on Facebook September 22 that he was "Jumping from gw bridge sorry." His car was also found near the New York City bridge, leading his family to believe the worst.

New York officials say the Ridgewood, N.J., teen drowned and that his body showed "impact injuries" from the fall.

Dharun Ravi, Clementi's roommate, and Rutgers student Molly Wei have been charged with invasion of privacy for filming and broadcasting a sexual encounter of Clementi's without his knowledge. Both have been released after posting bail.
