A popular Fargo, N.D., drag performer was standing outside a bar last weekend when a man yanked the wig off his head, called him an antigay slur, and took off running down the street.
JustNtyme, who asked to be identified by his stage name to avoid further harassment in an interview with Fargo-Moorhead's news website In Forum, told police he was standing outside Dempsey's Irish Pub when a man in a black hoodie ran by, snatched the $150 custom-made wig off his head, yelled "f****t," and took off.
Later that night, unable to sleep, JustNtyme wrote about the experience on Facebook. That night he also took a screen grab of a Facebook exchange bragging about the incident.
"You know it's a good night when your friend rips a wig off a tranny and books it down Broadway," part of the message read.
Fargo police sergeant Joe Anderson said there is "a person of interest" linked to the case, which is still under investigation. At this point, Anderson said it is considered a misdemeanor crime.
The bio on JustNtyme's website says he has been doing "female illusion since 2001." He is known for his impersonations of Madonna and Marilyn Monroe.
