The leader of California's general assembly, Los Angeles Democrat John Perez, has a holiday "it gets better" message for LGBT youth.
Perez says it "absolutely gets better," especially once gay people free from themselves from the closet. The politician says he couldn't have imagined as a gay teenager that he would one day rise to become one of the most powerful politicians in California.
