If gay Republican presidential candidate Fred Karger can meet the requirements, he will take part in a May 5 candidates' debate in South Carolina sponsored by Fox News.
The South Carolina GOP invited Karger, but he must pay a $35,000 filing fee to the state party to participate. While the California businessman can likely meet that requirement, he also has to average one percentage point in five national polls. While Karger won the New Hampshire straw poll, most other polls aren't even including him in a possible list of candidates.
Karger says if he doesn't qualify for the South Carolina debate, he's gunning for a June debate in New Hampshire.
