Boston Celtics guard Von Wafer said his friend and teammate was playing a "very sick joke" by hacking into his Twitter account to announce that he is gay. The 26-year-old also apologized for the fake announcement, and said it was a serious matter.
Wafer, an active Twitter user, was on a plane when the following tweet appeared on his profile: "I just wanna be gay, I wanna be honest with y'all...I like mens since I was like 15yo, dont be mad ppl on me cuz I still wanna have friends."
Hours later, the tweet has still not been removed from his account, but Terrance Doyle, Wafer's agent, told The Advocate earlier today that his client's Twitter account was likely hacked.
Soon after landing, Wafer wrote, "I cant believe u did that forreal bro come on man i am not gay and i dont have anything against gay people i jus want too say sorry my teammate sent those tweets out this is somethin that is serious and not a laughing matter i am sorry too anyone who was offended this was a very very very very sick joke that i dont find 1 bit funny once again im sorry."
