Looksmaxxing influencer Clavicular, legal name Braden Eric Peters, went viral over the weekend for allegedly kissing a transgender woman during his ongoing livestream. However, that’s not the case.

On Friday, June 27, a viral clip from the livestream capturing Clavicular’s stint in Paris — where he made his Fashion Week debut but has received the equivalent of a shrug as a reception from the French citizenry — showed him speaking to two women who he met outside a club and clearly asking if one of them was trans.

“It’s no disrespect whatsoever, but are you …” Clavicular begins to ask before mouthing to ask if she is trans. The woman leans in closer to him, and Clavicular continues, “They’re saying …” and although he lowers his voice, the footage clearly shows him mouthing the word “trans” in her ear.

“You are? I was wondering. I don’t give a fuck, but like …” he continues. The viral clip then cuts to him kissing one of the two women he spoke to on the dance floor. Several of the clips made about the encounter assumed that Clavicular was kissing the woman he had asked about being trans, but in fact the two friends outside the club were wearing the same dress.

Initial reaction to the viral video on social media made it seem as though the woman in the video was kissing Clavicular without telling him she was trans — a time-worn transphobic trope meant to depict trans people as deceptive. The myth that trans people routinely hide their gender identity to engage in sexual or romantic encounters has been used to justify the trans panic defense, a legal strategy that claims violence against trans people is more excusable if an assailant feels “tricked” by a trans person — and one that is now illegal in 20 states, per the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association.

However, after the clip went viral over the weekend, users on the social media platform X added a community note to the clip identifying the woman in the kissing clip as Adelaide Pali, a cisgender model from Albania.

One of the original accounts that claimed Pali was trans posted a screenshot of an alleged DM conversation between himself and Pali, in which she appears to correct his original tweet by saying that she is Albanian, not Polish, and cisgender, not trans.

Despite the original user posting the clarification, several people were unsatisfied and instead began to transvestigate Pali, making claims about her facial features.

“im lowkey an expert at clocking trans,” one user said. “a couple of the giveaways are the protruding brow ridge, pointer finger being shorter than the middle & ring finger. clavicle looks manly along with the above average height, looks like she had alot of work done.”

Another clip, shortly after the kiss, from that same night shows a friend of Clavicular leaning in and asking him, “Was one of them trans?”

“Uh…” Clavicular begins to respond before taking off his microphone. After Clavicular whispers in his ear, his friend says, “Beautiful!” to which Clavicular responds, “Nobody’s business.”

In a livestream from the next morning, Clavicular addressed the incident, as well, saying that “Everyone’s clickbaiting me on Twitter” adding that people are claiming that he was with a “tranny,” using a transphobic slur.

Clavicular further claimed that he brought both women back to his hotel room.

“Everyone’s going to say cap on this,” he begins, before saying that he brought both women back to his hotel room and “kicked it.”

“The girls were outside … well, maybe not plural girls,” Clavicular says, laughing. “Maybe singular. But regardless, we brought them back and kicked it. I didn’t slay or nothing, I was just hanging with the one real one and then obviously the clippers were trolling me hard, so fuck you guys. I was only talking to the one. The clippers did me dirty there.”

The following morning, Clavicular addressed the subject once again, saying that he knew that Pali’s friend was trans.

“I knew right away,” he said. “I literally like 0.5 seconds. She said that I was the first person who’s ever noticed.” However, he once again negged her — the morning after — by saying he was probably just the first “low inhib” person to ever ask.

Clavicular has had several interactions with trans women, or women that he believes are trans, on his livestreams before. Notably, in April, a crew of three trans women confronted him at a Florida restaurant and told him that trans women were the OG looksmaxxers. He also had a date with a woman on his livestream and continuously pushed her to say that she is trans, even though she insisted that she was cisgender.

A week after his confrontation with the OG looksmaxxers, Clavicular approached two women in a public mall hoping to hit on them. Once he found out they were trans, he walked away and laughed.

Clavicular was arrested on a battery charge in March for allegedly instigating and recording a fight between two women at his Florida home. One of the women was his 24-year-old girlfriend Violet Marie Lentz, per the BBC. In May, he was charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm in public after he fired a dozen shots at an alligator while livestreaming, per the New York Times.
