'Drag Floyd': Queens Provoking Own Murders to Cause Riots, Says Author

James Lindsay

Conservative commentator James Lindsay claims drag queens are trying duplicate the 2020 protests that happened in the wake of George Floyd's murder.

James Lindsay, a self-described enemy of "woke" culture who refers to LGBTQ+ people as "groomers," claimed during an interview at Turning Point's recent Americafest Live event that drag queens are deliberately provoking their own murders so as to incite riots, reports Media Matters.

"I think this is that unconventional warfare," Lindsay said. "This is what they do in unconventional warfare. They make these provocations. Drag queens are a provocation. It's been an escalating provocation. First, they're just dressing up in kind of somewhat you know, careful dress with their clown makeup, groomer clowns or whatever reading thing you know, they're -- they're dancing, they're grinding, they're sexual dancing, they're twerking. The next thing you know, they're doing simulated sex acts in front of children."

Lindsay continued, "This is an unconventional warfare tactic to provoke. The goal -- you guys remember George Floyd, the goal is to have Drag Floyd," he says referring to the murder of George Floyd by a police officer in May 2020 during an arrest in Minneapolis and the ensuing public outcry that followed.

"They put a drag queen, 'Oh, it's just a story. Oh, it's just dancing.' And what you're going to do is you're going to give in, at which point they're going to enter into their generate -- generative themes, educational method into living queerly, strategic defiance," he continued. "This is straight out of their literature that they say is the real goal of drag queen story hour, 'We're going to leave a trail of glitter that will never come out of the carpets' is the last sentence in that paper -- talking about your kids' brains. And then either you give into it and they get to do that, or you go too hard and you mess up and they make a video of you looking bad, and then they start trying to smear you as an anti-groomer, or as rising anti-LGBT hate."

"And the goal is to get you to give in so they get their way or overreact -- and that's where I say 'Drag Floyd,' it's so important to understand that they want a drag queen to get attacked and they want to make a huge amount of hay of it and they want to create summer 2020 again off of a drag queen or a trans person or something like this."

On December 14, Lindsay tweeted, "If a horrible tragedy occurs, and we must hope it doesn't and discourage it for every reason, strategic and moral, as many people as possible need to see the attempt for a 'Drag Floyd' operation before it can get off the ground. That's crucial, and it will break it."

Lindsay is one of the loudest proponents of smearing LGBTQ+ people as "groomers" who sexually prey on children. He even targeted The Trevor Project -- a nonprofit that works to end self-harm by LGBTQ+ youth -- this year. Lindsay's first claim to infamy was slandering Critical Race Theory, the teaching of racism in America, and even tweeted it would lead to the genocide of white people.

The self-proclaimed mission of Turning Point USA, which held the event where Lindsay made his "Drag Floyd" claims, is "to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government. TPUSA activists are the community organizers of the right." The organization was founded by Charlie Kirk.
